Gun & Davey Core CapabilitiesWorkPlace and Industrial Relations Service
In response to increasing changes in the Workplace and Industrial Relations Law and their impact on employers, John Hankin joined the firm and heads our WorkPlace Relation section. John’s role at Gun & Davey is to provide strategic support to the firm’s workers compensation practice Gun & Davey – Employer Direct a specialised service targeted directly at both exempt and registered employers. John has worked in workplace relations since 1980 when he first took a position as an Arbitration Inspector. After graduating from Law at Adelaide University where he tutored for two years, John commenced as the Legal and Industrial Officer of the Retail Traders Association of South Australia in 1988 gaining vast experience in both the Federal Court of Australia and the Industrial Relations Court of South Australia. In 1994 John accepted a position at the South Australian Crown Solicitors Offices as a Senior Solicitor in the Industrial Relations Section where he remained until August 1997 before commencing at Thomson Playford prior to accepting his new position with Gun & Davey this year. John has both the experience and qualifications to advise clients in all areas of Workplace Relations. His primary focus is to provide advice so as to minimise the risk of disputation or litigation. However, should that not be achieved, his ability and reputation as an experienced Industrial Counsel in all State and Federal Jurisdictions ensures he is able to see any issue through to the full satisfaction of his clients. In addition to his Honours Degree in Law from Adelaide University, John holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Uni SA and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from Monash University. John completes the firm’s ability to provide a full service to the firm’s employer client base under the recent Fair Work Act. Our WorkPlace and Industrial Relations services cover:
